
Billingen Hill
Billingen Hill is a greenbelt area that stretches between the towns of Skövde, Skara and Falköping. There are fifteen table mountains in this region, of which Billingen Hill is one, and all of them have been included in the first Unesco Global Geopark in Sweden. There is a total of 16 nature reserves on and around Billingen Hill. With a climate similar to the southern part of County Dalarna, there are plenty of woodland and bogs, and it often snows here during the winter months.
MTB, climbing or hiking in Skövde
The breathtaking views from Billingehus are instantly striking, but when it comes to activities, you’ll actually find the best at the back. Just around the corner from the hotel, the mountain Billingen offers both adventure and beautiful views, with activities such as mountain biking, climbing, high ropes course and incredible hiking trails. In winter, there are both cross-country ski trails and downhill skiing.

Hiking on Billingen
There are fantastic walks to discover in the natural area Billingen. One of the most popular is the 57 km Billingeleden trail, which can be taken in stages or as a three-day walk. Trollstigen is another that is available in three different levels where you can choose to walk the short tour (2.6 km), the middle tour (8.1 km) or the long tour (12.4 km). Here you will have a wonderful experience in the magical forests on the Billingen Hill.

Cycling & MTB on Billingen
When you stay with us, you have the best starting point for fantastic cycling on the Billingen Hill. Here you will find Billingen’s mountain bike arena and a variety of MTB trails in different difficulty levels. There is something for everyone, both the beginner and the more daring.
There are also great routes for gravel and road cycling at Billingen and around Skövde.

Running
Several trails of 2.5-10 km, from flat trails to challenging terrain, as well as two electrically lit loops. Choose whether you want to run through winding forest, along the beautiful Hållsdammen, rolling hills or steep hills. There’s also trail running, with 5.3 km of trails through tangled forests, little or no paths and wet areas. The 2.5-4 km Majaslingan is named after Maja Sandberg.

Upzone High-altitude track
Take your family or friends on an adventure where you climb from platform to platform, 14 meters up in the treetops. The high ropes course consists of five different courses – all with different levels of difficulty. You don’t need to be fit or have tried high-altitude courses before, but a bit of courage might be needed after all!

Climbing
Try top rope climbing with a guide available for both beginners and advanced participants. Perfect for those who like challenges or perhaps seek nature experiences beyond the ordinary.

Bath
Billingebadet is a nearby outdoor swimming pool with a 50-meter pool that is open during the summer.
Lake Simsjön is a bathing lake 3 km from the recreation area that offers clear water and three bathing areas.

Play golf at Billingens Golf Club
When you stay with us, you are close to Billingens Golf Club – a hilly park and forest course located by the mountain Billingen. In the fabulous environment of Vallebygden, you choose between playing 18 holes, 5-hole short hole course or 6-hole MultiParkGolf.
Winter at Billingen with cross-country and downhill skiing
Winter at Billingen is just as magical as summer! Did you know, for example, that there is an official Vasalopps center with 30 kilometers of groomed cross-country ski trails? The fact that there is also a ski slope with a fun park, covered ice rink and toboggan run, makes the mountain a little winter paradise for the whole family. All this just outside our hotel, 3 km from Skövde city center, just over an hour from Gothenburg and two from Stockholm.

Cross-country skiing on Billingen
Billingen is an official Vasaloppscenter with 30 kilometers of groomed cross-country ski trails that wind through the forests of the plateau mountain. It is one of Sweden’s most modern and longest artificial snow facilities with 11 km of electrically lit artificial snow tracks and space for both classic and skate. Here, both the beginner and the family with children as well as the happy exerciser and elite skier thrive.

Downhill skiing in Billingebacken
Right by our hotel is Billingebacken, which offers both wonderful skiing and brilliant views of Skövde. The slope is 400 meters long, with a drop of 100 meters. There is a slope, two lifts and a fun park with railings and jumps of varying difficulty.

Sledding, skating & family fun
There are a variety of activities for both young and old. Several sledding hills, barbecue areas and a covered artificial ice rink where the public can skate during special times.
